Behind Olek, Inc., is a team of passionate professionals who are committed to your satisfaction. In 1988, Peter Triestman, a Yale graduate, decided to follow in his father's footsteps and turn his passion for antique conservation into a professional pursuit.

Peter's unwavering dedication to the highest standards of antique conservation is evident through his associations with the esteemed American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. He actively shares his expertise by delivering presentations on fine furniture restoration and architectural woodwork preservation to architectural firms and furniture dealerships.

Herman Miller Eames Chair
Herman Miller Eames Chair

I searched for someone or some business that could repair a 1950's Eames Lounge Chair that had been my father's legacy which is extremly fragile. Although there appears to be a number of folks who claim that they can repair these chairs I found that many repair shops left these chairs in worse shape than prior to the work being done. I am not sure how I found Olek Lejbzon & Co.but my investigations indicated that these folks knew what they are doing. After a number of conversations back and forth it was decided exactly what needed to be repaired on my chair and I forwarded those items to the company. They sent me an estimated, I forwarded an advance payment and crossed my fingers. I generally worked with Peter and/or Michael and they kept me aware of the progress. The items I forwarded to them came back on time and within budget and I am quite pleased with the result. I was able to ship the items using UPS and prepaid the shipping back at my local UPS store. My chair is back in operation and I am quite pleased. I might add that I had to place a lot of faith in these folks, they are in Newark, NJ and I am in Kentucky. My faith was not misplaced.

We used Olek Inc. to shorten and polish our beautiful heavy wood dining table. Olek had to disassemble the table, cut it, re-attach the "bookends", and make it look like it was. Olek made the table look better than before. In addition to the excellent crafts work, so rare these days, they picked up and delivered this heavy table from and to Manhattan. Everyone in the process -- our project manager, craftworkers, shippers -- were polite and prompt. I recommend Olek to one and all.

It's hard to describe how happy we are with this work. We found our coffee table in a mom-and-pop furniture shop in downtown NYC about 15 years ago. Marble top with a wood frame, it was a welcome find after a long search and we were thrilled to make it part of our home.

We've never been sure how old it is, but if it's at least 50, that's a long time for a piece of wood to hold up a slab of marble. Eventually the wood dries out, which we discovered when, after moving the table one day, one side began to sink and the overall condition of the furniture is terrible, we appreciate the restoration from this company.

We were afraid it was lost for good, but my wife found this company via an article in New York, we called them about the restoration process and procedure, and we're so happy they were able to work with us. After picking it up, they diagnosed the need to rebuild the joinery. But the work wouldn't have been complete without fully restoring it for the next 50 years, by completely refinishing the wood and fixing the brass trim, which had also been damaged by time. They even replicated some brass trim that had fallen off before we first bought it so that everything was uniform.

We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.
