Conservation of 16th Century Baroque Italian Bed

The Baroque bed was missing carved elements from the cornice and posts and legs.  These missing elements were inlaid using matching walnut with similar graining.  The carvings matched the profiles, and hand of the original carver.  Following Dutchman inlays, the wood was touched up and waxed, with inlays indistinguishable from the antique body of the bed.

Baroque 16th century carved bed, inlaying missing elements, rebuilding joinery to facilitate use, and touching-up & waxing finish.
The 'hand' and the texture of the original carvings was meticulously recreated for all new carved inlays.
