Fine custom millwork begins with exquisite design, and is carried through by a our talented architect or designer of creating Shop Drawings for custom woodwork production. The house interior woodwork shown below was fabricated, finished, and installed by Olek. The floors were made of locally cut and milled hardwoods: walnut, cherry, and white oak lumber. The paneling uses traditional frame and panel, mortise and tenon joinery. Over 1000 drawings/sketches were required to detail all the varied windows and trim, doors, interior woodwork, cabinetry including kitchen, pantry, built in closets, base moldings, chair rails, stairs, railings, and cornices. The building architect provided twelve drawings.

This large Federal Style Dutch gambrel Center Hall residence was designed with extensive custom millwork. The staircase has a continuous handrail with open stringers to the third floor, with period style pierced fretwork stair brackets and stringer ornamentation. All the doors have mortise and tenon joinery with raised panels. The up to 12" random wide board walnut, cherry, and oak flooring are distinctive, complete with knots and other imperfections by modern standards, but impart great character and a period feel. The house itself had convinced more than one visiting architect that it was actually a period house, although completed in 2000.
